Jumping the Shark
No High Scores' official podcast.

The gang is all together for a week or so and we're talking about DRM. Bill is pissed about Driver and he's not gonna take it! And by "take it" I mean play Driver on his PC. Before we get down with the DRM though Todd talks about the newly patched Civ V, Bill takes From Dust for a Spin, Danielle is still loving Bastion and Saints Row 2 in equal measure and Brandon helps disrupt the ceramic rooster menace with Captain America: Super Soldier.

This week Jumping the Shark is short one Brandon (who's off searching for the Lost Ark of the Covenant), but we pick up a Tom Chick, who braves the heat to chat with us about game remakes: When are they a good thing? When do they waste of everyone's time? What would we like to see remade in the future? First, however, we talk up the cavalcade of games we've been playing over the past week. First up, a good long bit on Bastion, which all of us (sans Bill) have made a point to check out. Tom marvels at just how bad Call of Juarez: The Cartel and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 are, Danielle goes rogue(like) talking about Dungeons of Dredmor, and Bill talks a smattering of NCAA '12, Panzer Corps, and just a little bit of his Sengoku preview build. Oh yeah, and I give Mass Effect 2 some props for the one part of the game they absolutely nailed. Tom doesn't buy it, but then, what does he know? Join us for another week of laughter, tears, and just a hint of brash exuberance.

It's guests galore on this week's Jumping the Shark. Stardock's Derek Paxton and Jon Shafer joins us to talk about Fallen Enchantress, the follow up to Elemental: War on Magic. As if that wasn't enough, Troy Goodfellow sits in for Bill. Once we're done talking Fallen Enchantress, Derek sticks around to talk about what we've been playing. Troy gets into racing, Derek and Brandon talk LA Noire, Todd talks about his time as a renegade FemShep and Danielle talks about the joy that is Saints Row 2.

Have you ever purchased a shiny, new gaming device, gotten it home and it's not what you wanted it to be? Ever pick up a new console in the hopes it will fill all of your gaming needs just to have it lie there unused for months? These heartbreaking tales, and many more, are covered in this week's Jumping the Shark where Brandon, Danielle, Todd and Bill talk all about buyer's remorse. We also manage to get in some talk about Dungeon Siege 3, the new Kinect UFC fitness game and busting bugs in the Earth Defense Force.
